2014 Columbia Valley Cabernet Franc
A warm, ripe year, the Cabernet Franc from the 2014 vintage shows blackberry, blueberry and violet aromas backed with pencil shavings and freshly mown grass. Silky tannins balance vibrant acidity on the palate, finishing like dessert in a glass, blackberry cheesecake, and crème brulee.
2014 Washington State Cuvée
This delicious Cuvée opens with a chocolate covered cherry nose followed on the palate by fig chutney with sweet roasted fresh garden tomatoes and eggplant. The long finish brings to mind Herbes de Provence on lamb chops. Yum! ~ Myles Anderson
Inviting aromas of raspberries, blueberry cobbler, licorice and a touch of spice. Smooth tannins wrap around blackberry, cassis and dark chocolate flavors with hints of vanilla and toast. ~ William von Metzger
2014 Walla Walla Valley Merlot
The attention-getting nose of cedar, oak and violet jumps from the glass and takes you to a sweet espresso beginning, a thick middle of wild huckleberry jam and a finish that dances with flavors of caramel, mocha, leather and fresh black Mission fig.
At the time this was the hottest vintage on record, with Growing Degree Days at 25% above average. Hot summer days reduced berry size and lead to wines with intense flavor and depth. This is a year for big, powerhouse wines. Enjoy!
2014 Columbia Valley Bello Rosso
Some of our earliest Sangioveses were blended with just a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon. We revisited this ‘Super Tuscan’ tradition in 2005 and struck a chord. A 50/50 blend brought out the best of both worlds. The tannin structure of the Cab balanced perfectly with the bright acidity of Sangiovese and the “Bello Rosso” was born. A nose of dried strawberries and cranberries with accents of mint reveals cassis, cinnamon and dusty raspberry on the palate. Lush tannins and bracing acidity frame the lengthy finish.
2014 Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon
Inviting aromas of blackberry and red currant dusted with cinnamon, cassis and woody herbs. Raspberry and black cherry flavors are layered with roasted eggplant and spice, back by sweet vanilla and coconut notes. Bright acidity and integrated tannins add length to the finish offering hints of rose petal, black pepper, tobacco and just a bit more coconut.
2014 Columbia Valley Malbec
We love this 100% Malbec from Sagemoor Vineyard! It was crafted with great care—punched down by hand four times a day; run through a small basket press; and aged for 19 months in French oak, both new and neutral, to express the varietal character. The intense aroma of ripe mountain blueberry jars your senses by a beginning of black raspberry, and a middle of fennel -black licorice and ending with a pleasantly tart ripe cherry-plum finish. It is age worthy and we recommend one-hour of breathing before drinking.
